Let's talk about something crucial when it comes to servicing your car: checking your old parts. It might not seem like a big deal, but it can make a world of difference.

Recently, we had a customer whose car had only been serviced at a dealership. They paid for new air and cabin air filters with each service. Sounds good, right? Here’s the catch: when they finally asked to see the old filters, they were shocked. The filters removed from their car looked worn-out and clearly hadn't been changed in ages, despite what they were told and paid for.

When you pay for a service, you're not just paying for the labor. You're also paying for the parts, and those parts become yours. It's your right to ask to see the old parts that were replaced. It's a bit like checking your receipt at the store to make sure you got what you paid for.

Why does this matter? Trust. Trust is the foundation of any relationship, even the one you have with your mechanic. When you're offered the chance to see your old parts, it shows transparency and builds trust. It gives you confidence that the work you paid for was actually done and done right.

So, next time you take your car in for a service, don't hesitate to ask about your old parts. It's not just about being nosy; it's about making sure you're getting what you paid for and maintaining that trust with your mechanic. After all, your car deserves the best care possible, and you deserve peace of mind knowing it's being looked after properly.
